    overheating question for a 79 mecrusier 470

    I have a 1979 Mercruiser 470 that is warming up too much past normal spot on the temperature gauge it's supposed to be 160 but it goes up to around 180 then when I put it in gear and goes back down some. I'm pretty sure its the thermostat not working properly. Anyone have any other suggestions...

    having issues after replaced impeller on a 79 Mercruiser 470

    before I begin to change the impeller on the 79 or cruiser 470 it was in neutral then I drop the lower unit were the impeller is and put it all back together and when I started it back up for some reason the prop is turning while in neutral. What could be causing this?
