    Installing a Water Pressure Gauge on 1998 150 XL

    I have a 1998 150 XL Merc. and have been trying to install a water pressure gauge with no success. There does not appear to be any dedicated port for a such fitting into the cylinder head. I ended up tee'ing it into the tell tale tubing but I get no pressure reading whatsoever. I would love to...

    1998 Merc 150 XL. Having alarm issues (temp)

    Help! I have a 1998 Merc 150 XL. Having alarm issue. Must be temp since I've pulled the oil injection and mix my fuel/oil in tank. I replaced the thermostats, new water pump, replaced poppet valve -- just now replaced the temp. sensor, but still getting the alarm... Engine has a good stream...

    galamb, I think you might right on this. I went down to the boat to see where the poppet valve was located. Going to order the part and replace. Hopefully it will solve my issue. It appears I will need to remove the lower cowl on the engine. Pretty easy process? Can't seem to locate any...
