    Johnson 200 Ocean Pro

Hi. I'm looking at a boat for my oyster farm. It's powered by Johnson Ocean Pro 200. I'm not yet sure what the year is, but it's gray in colour, if that helps. I'd like to get an idea of the fuel consumption at WOT (and oil consumption, as well) so that I can figure out what it's going to cost...

    2015 100hp

I'm looking at a boat with a 2015 or 2016 100HP on it. Is there anything particular to this model that I need to watch out for?

115 2-stroke: What year is it?

I'm looking at a boat online and the seller doesn't know what year this engine is. Can any of you suggest a year or year range. Also, bonus question: any comments on the pluses/minuses of this model and /or things to look for, specific to this model, before buying? Thank you in advance (you can...

Recommissioning 1989 Mercury 100 after 15 years in storage

I'm preparing to put a 1989 Mercury 100 back in to service after 15 years in storage. Can any of you suggest any things that I need to check beyond the usual annual maintenance items – crank seals, oil system, carb's, whatever? Thanks for any advice that you can provide.

    Dyed fuel getting into oil?

I have a 2003 BF200. When I check the oil, the volume seems to have increased. Our local outboard tech tells me that it's because I'm using dyed marine gas and that the dye is getting into the oil. I also note that the oil itself seems to be developing a reddish tinge, so maybe it's true...

    BF200 Propeller Size

Gentlemen: I have a 2002 BF200 (bought new in 2014, but that's another story) powering my 23' workboat. It currently wears a 14x19 4-blade aluminum wheel. With a clean bottom and the boat running light, WOT only produces 4500RPM. I would prefer to stick with the 4-blade wheel, and don't want...

    Walter RV-40 V-Drive

I have a pair of Walter RV-40 V-drives that need new (rebuilt??) CV joints. Walter says that they not available any more, but that they'll happily sell me a new set of V-drives for $8,000. The gears, bearings and everything else in these units are showing almost no wear, and I just can't justify...

    B-W 73C 'Whirring' Noise

I have a pair of Volvo TD70's driving through model 73C-1 Borg-Warner Velvet Drives. Often, though not always, when the PT engine is idling in neutral, the transmission emits a 'whirring' or light, rapid clicking noise (if you're old enough to remember clipping a playing card to the frame of...

    What year is my 9.9?

I have a 9.9 that appears to be from the mid-1980's. The serial number is 7144118. What year is it?

It's only turning at a fraction of engine speed and I can hold it with my hand and stop it with little...
