Hi
Consider joining the Carolina Classic Boat Owners forum.
Your drive was used extensively by Carolina Classic and Albemarle.
There are some really knowledgable members who have dealt with your drive.
Good Luck

Hi
For starters.
Make sure your idle speed is set correctly. Try to set it as low as possible without stalling.
This might not be achievable with a computer controlled motor.
Check the drive lube for water and make sure you are using the correct 75w90 GL5 synthetic lube without limited slip...
Hi Gang
I’m a frequent contributor/beneficiary on the Crusader, Volvo and Merc. sites. I could use some help.
A friend just purchased a boat with a 1978 Chrysler 160 hp outboard and would like for me to repl. the impeller.
I’m not afraid of this task but I can’t seem to find any info on this...
Hi Guys
I’m wondering if the factory flush adaptor by the heat exchanger with the blue cap on it can also be used to run the motor without muffs.
The boats is a 2004 with 8.1s and is out of the water.
I don’t have the owners manuals.
Thanks

Hi Gang
Does anyone here know of a reputable outfit than can handle the diagnosis, service and rebuilding of a late 90s SX-DP drive?
It seems that fewer and fewer shops are willing to work on V/Ps in and around Mass.
Thanks

Hi
I have twin 2016 Merc 377 Mag ECT motors and would like to check / set the cam angle retard on both motors.
My Rinda Techmate displays the info.
I am looking for the the correct spec. as interpreted by the Rinda Tech Mate.
Also, at what rpm is the cam angle retard best checked at...
Hi All.
I have twin 2014 377 Mag motors with cat. converters.
The decal on the flame arrestor cover states that the proper spark plug is an AC 41-101
The decal states a gap of .040 in.
This seems odd to me as most 377 motors using 41-101 plugs with a flat cap HVS distributor are generally...
Hi Gang
I have a tough one here. I know I have come to the right place.
Engine is a reman 350 Gm. The block is cooled with anti freeze and the exhaust with seawater.
It has new exhaust manifolds and elbows, a new 140f thermostat (I know it should be a 160f)
It has a new Johnson FS-6 crank...
Hi Guys
I was rebuilding a couple of Marine Q jets recently and noticed that the choke plates don’t have a pull off.
The device which appears to be a pull off, I believe it is called a vacuum break is linked to the secondary air doors.
So my question is: Do these marine Q jets use a choke...
Hi Guys
I have a V/p 5.0 GL motor which is carbed with a factory electric pump.
Boat runs strong with no issues and will top out at 4400 rpm.
The electric fuel pump (Single pump set up with no cell) is noisier than usual and is too hot to touch while running.
The filters are new. Anti...
Hi Guys
Just curious as to what temp reduction percentage one might see on a healthy heat exchanger inlet vs outlet on the closed side at idle and under load.
Half systems and Full systems.
Thanks

Hi Guys
I would like to remove/replace the one piece PDS bearing on a Dpe drive which utilizes a jackshaft.
I don’t have a manual that outlines this procedure.
I have done this several times in the past on conventional stern drive set ups with the one piece bearing, but the jackshaft set up...
Hi All
Wondering if it’s possible to adj. the short shift cable with the boat in the water.
Pulling this boat out without a trailer is difficult and expensive.
So if the the short cable is disconnected at the plate and I manually shift it into fwd with the engine idling and maintain pressure...
Hi All
I have 2005 3.0 Alpha 1 gen 2 equipped boat that I took on for some repair work.
When I shift it into fwd or rev. the rpms come up a bit approx 400 rpm before the gears engage.
Basically the throttle is opening prior to shifting. It grinds going into reverse.
Base idle is OK and...
