    I have a 1985 Sylvan V171 with 200 murcruiser MGM 305 with thunderbolt ignition ( serial # S389755 ) would not go over 2000 RPM I changed spark plugs rotor and cap and coil ,wires ohm good Now it runs fine The disrtibutor cap has a port on side should it be capped or is there a hose attached...

    1985 sylvan mercruiser 200 thunderbolt ignition mgm 200 engine inside the distributor the sensor that picks up the rotor rotation mine is rusted can it be cleaned Also replaced distributor cap there is a vent on cap should it be plugged or does a tube connect to it an if so where does it go

    I have a 1985 Sylvan V171 200 mercruser with GM 305 ran great on vacation got home can't plane pout can't get over 2000 RPM new gas filter checked filter to carb gas flows good into a can don't know PSI wires are on corect and ohmm out good One thing I noticed electric choke has electric to it...
