    compression for 1981 70hp

    can anyone tell what the compression is suppose to be around for 1981 70hp johnson? it is around 115 - 118 on all 3 cyl. thanks

    does the fuel pump suck as well as blows?

    1982 dt25. i was under the inpression that diaphram pumps running off the side of an outboard had a blow-suck action to work the fuel pump. is this correct? i pulled my fuel pump off and ran the motor and the was plenty of blow pressure there with a gap between blows but no sucking pulse.

    1980 25 hp battery size.

    i recently bought a 1980 25hp electric start, and wondering what size battery would be suitable? there will be only the outboard, sounder running from it and maybe a radio in emergencies. i currently have a 95 A/H battery but the weight in my 12 foot tinny is a bit too much. thanks

    i recently bought a suzuki electric start dt 25hp. what size battery would i need for it. i have a 95 a/h battery which is heavy for a 12 foot tinny. i was thinking around 50 -60 a/h. what do you think? sharn

    40hp not starting

    i have an 83 40hp evinrude the condensers points coils and plugs replaced. seems to have plenty of spark. i have cleaned out the carby and seems to have fuel. i just cant get it started help please!!!

    3.3hp mariner wont start

    so i got my friends outboard to fix for him thinking theres not much wrong and i can fix it. i pulled the fuel tank off and there is water in it. pulled the carby off and the bowl and float has corrosion in and around it. i clean it all up blew the carby out. new spark plug but it still wont...

    gears out of line

    i have a 1974 evinrude 25 hp outboard. well i got a second hand clutch dog and replced the old one. when i put it back together i now only have forward where neutral is and neutral where reverse is. can anyone tell me what i did wrong and how do i fix this problem? thanks

    jumping out of gear

    i have a 1974 evinrude 25 hp outboard. i was out on the bay on the weekend and it start jumping out of gear, it gradually got worst and we had to get towed in. does anyone know what could have caused this? thank sharn

    a little miss otherwise runs

    i just bought a 74 25hp evinrude. i cleaned the carby which was clean anyway. replaced the plugs and set them, got it started it seemed to be running god except a miss in it would anyone know why or where to start looking thanks sharn
