    Help With Identification.

    Before I make the drive to look at an outboard I found listed, I was hoping to get some help authenticating. The motor is listed as a 1988, 15 HP, 2 stroke, electric start and the owner "thinks" it is a short shaft. Does that check out? Thanks.

    Same as the Johnson 15 HP?

    Found this advertised today. It is listed as a 15 HP. Does that sound right? Any idea on the year? Is this the exact same as a Johnson 15 HP? I need to make sure because I have health limits on what I can lift and 70 pounds is about the max.

    Found this for sale 60 miles away. The seller tells me it is a 9.8 hp, 2 stroke but he doesn't have any idea of the year. I have heard these Mercury outboards are among the lightest available.
