    After installing new arco trim motor, trim gauge only points down

    1977 140. new trim motor works great but gauge always points down. needle twitches when i move lever up or down, but always points in downward position. was ok with old worn trim motor. what did i screw up?

    1977 140 seems to be cranking slower than last year.

    Seems to need tiny amount of ether to start. new battery,clean cables,good voltage to starter. can starter loose their oomph over time? also should throttle plates be closed on StART cam? I know there closed at idle from linksync.
