    a sneeze means its running lean, open the idle jet some and see what happens. Did you remove the lower unit and clean/inspect the exhaust tube

    1985 35hp merc. Broken shift shaft.

    Possible I guess, hope not because there are 2 more rubbers under the powerhead. They get wiped out when the lower bearing/seal on the engine fails. Covered in gas and oil they don't last long, soon after engine runs on one cyl and takes out the cranckshaft splines and driveshaft upper splines...

    Putting a Mercury 5HP back to life

    "pull the float out and bend t "pull the float out and bend the tab, shake it first to see if its got a leak. MOB switch just grounds the ign out same as the kill switch. Should be a black/yellow wire, when grounded the engine won't start"

    Octain

    is there such a thing as to mu is there such a thing as to much octain. I have been running 100L/L in my 40merc. Its aircraft fuel. Will it cause any problems?
