I finished the rebuild and the motor runs very well and a lot more responsive, no more starting issues and a least I have piece of mind knowing that the
"Racing oil" is not very useful in determining content...and
potassium won't help much with the friction.....
I installed the seals and prongs from the Sierra kit in the lower unit prop shafts bearing carrier and now the prop shafts doesn't spin freely in neutral.
Might be normal for a 2 stroke engine.---------Pressure test the lower unit if concerned.
I have a 1990, 2-stroke, 25 hp and saw the brown, milky oil leaking from the prop. Removed the lower unit and saw the liquid is coming from the housing
