hi I have a slight problem with my tilt on my outboard works up an down ok but motor wont stay up gradually goes back down it is actually on a 1986 40hp
That spring is also available, no problem in getting that part.
we cant fix what we cannot see...and i dont think we got any body shop people here anyway...you best bet is to look for a used one and its still going

we have no idea what you shorted out or grounded so we cant be much help....fix what wiring you can see that is damaged...check all your fuses...then
