No just take the flame arrestor off and see if the choke is actually opening up after a few minutes. You don't need to run the engine, just have the key
Couple of questions. Can the float be tested by :
1) Is the wiring polarity sensitive or can either of the two sensor wires be the ground?
No. The 9.9 is a completely different block. But you can upgrade to a 9.8 by installing the carb for a 9.8
The new fuel pump fixed it. When I pulled the old pump and compared it to the new one the old one had less spring to the plunger.
