"Have a 20 horse tiller steer chryler. Easy to put in forward gear and neutral but won't always go in reverse and sometimes jumps out of gear. Any suggestions. Rich

"My motor is older than yours

"My motor is older than yours but I had the same problem. You may need to adjust the linkage. On mine part of the linkage is a two piece rod that goes to the lower unit and it's joined with a ( 1 1/2 - 2 inch ) nut that has a left handed thread on one end and a right handed thread on the other with a lock nut, and turning the large nut clockwise or counter clockwise lengthens or shortens the rod allowing the adjustment."
