My trim will only work in the

My trim will only work in the override mode. I have tried to reset the indicator gauge to reflect the trim location but it will not work. The trim guage will not idicate more than slightly below the middle setting. I do know the drive is going all the way up and all the way down but I cannot set the proper stops. I have all the istruction of how to set the stops but the gauge will not respond. Is it possible the gauge is bad? The rest of the system is new and was replace a year and a half ago under warrenty.

"I have a Volvo AQ231A and I am having a similar problem. I ordered a Potentiometer for it but haven't had time to install it yet. Hopefully it will fix it, mine reads on the digital guge that the unit is up all the time, even when it is down. The only way to rais it is to use the overide button. Let me know what you find out on yours."
