looking for any info/comments on a 1998 mariner 200hp outboard possible problems?

May have a plastic drive gear

May have a plastic drive gear for the oil injection.Same motor as a MERCURY.

" Ken...Are you considering carb, EFI,or Optimax engine. Opti motors can be hooked up to a DDT to test the motors sensors and injectors, just so you know. I have seen little problems with these motors but if not buying from a dealer you should have it checked over by a cert. mechanic before purchase for your own safety, its worth the expense...DJ "
