Why does my1973 95 evinrude Spit and backfire

Have tried every thing..carb

Have tried every thing..carb cleaned and rebuilt. new fuel pump..new plugs..Tried all of the low speed mixture settings and nothing seems to help..The throttle plate is seating fine ....

People remove thermostats for

People remove thermostats for whatever reason. A cold motor will not run properly.Most "carburetor" problems turn out to be something else.
