2005 Yamaha F150 125 hrs

"I had the 100 hour service done 1 month ago. I run my boat regularly 6-8 times per month without issue.

Today I launched my boat at the ramp, put it in reverse and the engine died. I could not get it started and the "high pitched" oil or engine alarm was sounding, and still does every time I try to start it.

The fuel filter appears to have gas in the bottom 1/8 of the filter.

The engine oil is perfect. Any ideas on what could be preventing my boat from starting? The boat is a 2005 Grady White Sportsman 180 (18' cc)

"Thanks, Al. I actually found that the kill switch was the culprit before seeing your respone. The lanyard got caught on the helm and pulled the clip just enough to have it disengaged.

Your troubleshooting techniques are spot on.
