i have replaced the heads on m

i have replaced the heads on my 4.3 mercruiser due to a fried valve - the manual states to go one full turn but everyone tells me one half is better? also how can you tell which are the intake and exhaust valves when looking at the top?

I am going to tell you something different again just to be hard to get along with, I recomend 3/4 of a turn.
If you look at your manifolds the inlet and exaust ports basicaly line up closest to the valve that they apply to, if you cannot work it out from that it is time to consult your manual.
