Its generaly harder to pull out of forward than reverse with the interupt switches bypassed.
I have them bypassed on mine, the only reason I get away with it is because the old 292ci chev's in mine will idle very low. Once you get the idle speed down below 55o rpm it is OK to go in and out of gear but you cannot rush it.
My boat has been like it since I bought it, but I am going to reconnect them for this season and see if it makes any difference with the way I drive it.

Why do you want to do this?
If you are having trouble with the interrupt switch killing the engine at odd times, the chances are your lower shift cable is stiff and needs lubing or may need to be changed out.
If your lower shift cable is good, and your shift linkage is properly adjusted, the switch should not be causing any undue trouble.
