I have a 2001 Bayliner 2655. I

I have a 2001 Bayliner 2655. It has a V-8 5.0L in it. I am told it got water in the engine and it is shot. Does anyone know what a new long block would cost and maybe a guess on the labor?

Depends on how the water got in.fresh or salt.
with salt you have 36-48 hrs to get it running or junk it

"Consider going to a 350 vs. 305

Also consider buying a new "drop-in" engine vs. a longblock since the labor and misc. parts to change your external parts to the new block can be the same or close to the diffference in cost for the drop-in.
