"Was out yesterday, the boat was running fine. Then one engine stalled out. It would fire up, run for 15 seconds, then dies. I did this many times. Was worried about water in the gas because we have had some storms in OH lately, but both engines pull from the same tank. Could water have only got into one? I plan to change the filter, but what else should I check for if that does not fix the problem?"

"Ed, Dump the water seperator into a glass jar and see if it has water in it. You may then reinstall it, and it will trap more water.

Failing fuel pump is a good possibility. When was the last time the engine was given a good tuneup? Cleaned the flame arrestor lately? Dump a couple of cans of SEA FOAM into the fuel tank. If there is water in the fuel it will disperse it while cleaning your fuel system.

"It was given a good tune up in May, but have changed the oil since then. I will check out the filter and get the sea foam. Would like to try that before replacing the fuel pump. Thanks"
