"I recently purchased my first boat, it appears the belt has stretched and is loose. The adjuster is it at its max position. I was just wondering if there is a trick to putting on a new belt? It looks like you have to remove the forward mount to get the new belt on and I am afraid to try. Any help would be greatly appreciated!"

Give us some details on model etc.
If its an inline 4 I beleive you do have to slip the belt around the front mount.
Others on this site who know for sure will verify.

there is a removeable block on

there is a removeable block on the port side of the mount. (2 bolts) this removes to change the belt. some strap a spare to the mount to make the next change easier.
 
The motor is a 3.0 liter 4 cyl

The motor is a 3.0 liter 4 cylinder in a 1989 glastron. I will give it a try. Thank you very much for the info.
