"Starts and runs fine, but fails to start after a long run. Gas is going into the carborator and cranks over just fine. I can let it set for about 45 minutes and it will start. It is like it needs time to cool down. I have replaced a fuel filter, and put in a fuel additive. I was told it was a vapor lock but feel that is not the problem. I put in another battery for accesories on the boat. The tempuature is at a normal running temp. Why does it not start right away?"

Welcome aboard

You said ""Gas is going into the carborator and cranks over just fine"" .

You have listed your engine as a 5.7 EFI, is the engine Electronic Fuel Injected (EFI)or does it have a carburetta fitted ??

Cheers

"Mark:

Are you getting spar

"Mark:

Are you getting spark during this "NO START" time? You can determine if it is "vapor lock" by getting a can of "circuit cool" spray from any electronics shop and spray the fuel lines when this occurs. The spray will liquify any vapor immediately.

If there is not any spark, use the same spray on the ignition module or coil to cool it down and see if it is failing under a heat load."
