"I recently found one of my exhaust baffles trapped behind my prop. I have a 98 5.0L Mercruiser with a Alpha 1. I ordered new baffles, just have not got to put them in yet. Can someone tell me roughly how many hours this may take, any tricks or special details? The boat is in the water a few minutes away, so I want to make sure I take ever tool I may need. It looks pretty simple, but I have gotten in trouble with the simple theory before.... Thanks...Glenn"

I recently inspected my baffles. It was EZ as pie. I used a flat head screwdriver to remove the large hose clamps, strong-arm'd the rubber exhaust off, and the baffles were right there.

It's a fast operation... perhaps less than an hour if you're taking your time and not rushing.

Only 'trick' would be to use a nut driver instead of a flat-head screwdriver.
