"After running fine for two months, boat will not get on plane. Sounds like exhaust backfire thru exhaust manafolds.Changed oil, appeared OK. Changed fuel separater and filter in quadrajet carb.Carb was running rich at first start up till choke opens (black smoke). Changed plugs, were black with carbon. Temp. fine. New outdrive. Remanufactured motor with 180 hrs.Carb remanufactured with 50 hrs.Treated fuel with seafoam.I do notice condensated water coming thru both hoses to flame arrestor and small puff of steam coming thru pcv valve.Runs fine with out load. All I can think of"

"Blackened plugs are a sign of rich condition; elec. choke not opening all the way, float setting off specs. would cause flooding.

Moisture from vent hoses is normal with a cold engine and should disappear when thermostat opens. Lazer temp. gun can tell you what temp. the engine is operating and verify if the thermostat is functioning.

Carb. needs top work; float level, accellerator pump. If 4 BBL are secondaries opening?"
