Question: 1: What is the best way of removing the old core plugs?
2. On reassembly, how do I reinstall the new core plugs? Is a sealant used in conjuntion with the refitting? Do I need a special tool to sread the plug? "

"Tom... Gently hammer a pointed scribe into the core plug which will cause the plug to diminish in size, at which point you can pry it out. Just be carefull that you do not hammer the scribe in too far..... just enough to insert the scribe for prying.

To install, simply tap the domed core plug with a suitable size punch which will spread the core plug, causing it to seal.

Normally, no sealant is needed, however in accordance with OMCs suggestions, after installing the plug ,I always coat the outer surface with a substance called "Gasioila" which comes in a small can, and should be available at any automotive parts type store.
