"I have a 1995 Maxum with a 4.

"I have a 1995 Maxum with a 4.3LX mercruiser stern drive that will not go all the way down, it goes up OK, and will come down so far then stops and trys to go down more but will not move. I have taken lines off and try’d to move it by hand and it still will not go any further down, it seems as though it is hitting something and being stopped. There are no noises when it is in gear and running. Could this be a Hydraulic cylinder that is broken inside???"

Is the oil level correct in the reservior? Have someone operate the trim while you observe the OD to see where it is binding. If it is not binding do the next.

Disconnect one cylinder rod at a time at the trim tab and run the trim to see if it goes in and out. Reconnect it and test the other.

"Thanks, I found the problem, I took the cylinders off and try'd to move them, one is broke, so now I just have to replece it or fix it, Does anyone know of somewhere online to buy them???
