"1998 5.7 MIE 2bbl.
I'm having severe power loss at low end (runs fine at mid-range and on top), running rich...all the symptoms of the timing not advancing at low end. Last time I had it out, I advanced the timing to +/- 30 degrees btdc, and the boat shot out of the water like it should. I've since put the timing back to 8 degrees btdc in base timing mode.
Does anyone know how much voltage drop I should see at the timing lead when testing the knock sensor according to the this?<center><table border=1><tr><td>http://www.marineengine.com/discus/icons/mime_pdf.gif""" align=left alt=""application/pdf"">Knock System
Knock System.pdf (66.1 k)</td></tr></table></center>
I'm getting a slight drop (around 1-2V) when I tap on the block next to the sensor.
Any thoughts???"
