"Bottom 2 cylinders are floodi

"Bottom 2 cylinders are flooding. Have eliminated ignition as source of problem. Disconnected lower carb fuel line while running and this seemed to briefly(till fuel bowl emptied)rectify problem. Swapped lower carbies for known good set- no change. Fuel bulb seems soft.Engine smoke cleared up with above leaning out, suggesting overly rich mixture. Have seen a couple of references to vent tubes?"

"The plugs looked pretty good

"The plugs looked pretty good when we opened the box, white shiney and dry. After they were in the engine for a few minutes, not having made any difference, they were now not so white, shiney or dry. The top 2 cylinders are running well. The bottom 2 are very wet. When you disconnect the choke interconnect rod and choke the bottom cylinders only, there is no difference to the operation of the engine. Top choke only- engine stops. If you disconnect the lower carb fuel supply, after a couple of seconds the lower cylinders kick in, the engine smooths out, increases RPM, runs ok, then as lower carb empties, runs slower but smoothly. It seems like the lower cylinders are far too rich. As I said we changed the lower carbs for a known good set and it made no difference. Have tried running straight out off a 25l drum to isolate the boat fuel system. No change. Reed valves OK. Compression good. This is driving me nuts-Help."
