"Working on getting an old boa

"Working on getting an old boat started for the first time in 10 years. Got to the point of hooking up the battery and lowering the outdrive. That worked fine. Then we did a couple more things and hooked up the water. When we went to start, there was nothing, and even the trim/tilt didn't work. All the aux. switches seem to work (horn, blower). None of the instrument gauges seem to work (fuel level, battery, oil).

Checked the 50 amp fuses at the engine. They were fine. The Clymers talks about 20 amp inline fuses on the ignition, but I couldn't find them. Checked all the rubber booted electrical connectors on the engine and they were all fine. Tried another battery, but no go.

Also, bypassed the kill switch at the ignition switch, which controls both the trim/tilt and the ignition, but this didn't help.

Don't know why the trim/tilt would work once, then fail.

Any suggestions.

Thanks for all the help.

Bob"

"If the tilt/trim power and engine power is gone( which split off from the start slave solenoid) then you must have a bad connection somewher between the battery and slave solenoid, go back and check, clean all connections."

"Check the lines at the ignition switch. In neutral, one should be hot(from battery),another hot when switch in start position (To solenoid)and another hot to coil. The 20 amp fuse often is under or in dash near ignition switch."
