"I have a 89 cobra outdrive and it will not prime itself. I have taken the lower outdrive off and replaced the gasket and glued the water seals very well. I changed the impeller, plate, and housing. Also put a new 160 thermostat in it. I connected a clear hose from the thermostat housing to the outdrive and I see small air bubbles while the engine is running. The engine will run up to about 190 degrees. Then it will creep up to about 200. If I shut it off I see the water go back down the clear hose halfway and stop. However it will not pick the water back up. Please help I am lost and about to give up."

I had a problem with a new set of Square Muffs not working on my 89 Cobra (from West Marine).

I went out and bought a Cheap Round set and they worked properly.
