We're looking to buy an 02

We're looking to buy an 02 Baystealth with an 02 Yamaha 150 vmax. Anyone aware of any problems with this year model engine? I don't have the SN for the motor. All I know is other references on the motor are TRP or OX66. Your help is appreciated

"Jane, I guess no news is good news in this case. Yami makes a very good engine - they are the largest producer of outboards in the world.

At this particular horsepower the motor is alot more like the one in your car compared to those on the back of the average fishing boat - and in many cases "more complicated" than your car's.

So service is the key - if you have a Yami dealer close by (or close to where you will be running) that is of utmost importance. It doesn't matter how well a product is built, if it needs a part and you have to wait weeks for it due to lack of "local support" then the "quality" doesn't do you alot of good."
