"Hi yesterday i was happy wakeboarding behind my 87 bayliner with 2.3 omc cobra when we hit a mud bank as we throtteled out the engine suddenly when pop and stopped. after getting towed back and getting home after some investergation we found the cam belt and slipped around the dizzy pulley can someone explain how this can happen when it did not slip the cam or the crank pulley! also we havent had it running yet as i am waiting for gasket as i wanted to clean all the mud out of the leg. could this sort of thing cause any probs that we might not be aware of before we run the engine in water again .

Regards
