Weird Cobra Shifting Problem

"Had a good day on the water u

"Had a good day on the water until it was time to put the boat on the trailer. I had the boat in forward gear and then put it into reverse. Well, when the lever was in reverse, the drive is acutally still in forward and now I can't put the lever in forward past the neutral spot. Even when it is in the neutral spot the drive is still in forward gear.
Can anyone help, please?!?!?!?!?!

Yep i had kinda the same thing

Yep i had kinda the same thing happen. You probaly need to replace the lower cable. A fast way to check it out would to pull the remote shifter cable lose and try to see if it will move back and forth. Than try to put it into gear from the carb with the lower cable still hooked up. That will lead you the way. Hope this helps a little.

"Definitely is the lower shoft cable. When I got under there to take a look, I saw the shielding all broken apart. New cable is on the way!!!

"good luck putting it in, I wanted to replace mine that could of used it, but its very hard getting to the nut at the out drive side. So I gave up."
