" I have a 40 merc 2003 that seem to stop sucking fuel
when at idle or below 1500 rpm,s. If I,m above 1500 rpm,s we can speed troll all day no problem. If I,m trolling and I'm below 1500 rpm,s I have to reach back every so offen and pump the primer blub just to keep going. I know that this motor is still under warranty, but just wanted to know if anybody has experanced this problem and also may have an easy solution to it. Thanking you in advance Deano. "

" Sounds like a leaking fuel line, fitting, or fuel pump. The pump can not create enough pressure when running at a slow pace. If it is still under warranty, by all means take it to an Authorized Mercury Repair Center. Let them know exactly what it is doing.

" I have an 02 50 that had idling/restart problems also. The dealer opened the idle adjustment screw on each (3), carburetors. Problem seems improved. Motor was starving for fuel. "
