OMC 43 TrimTilt sending unit

I have a 92 Omc 4.3 ltr .My Co

I have a 92 Omc 4.3 ltr .My Cobra trim gauge constantly reads as if drive is in up position. Disconeected all wires from guage but it still reads the same. I saw in the manual that there is a sending unit for the guage but I cant find it. Anyone know where it is located? Thanks.

"You've probably got a broken wire or defective sender. On the OMC's if you remove the sender wire the gauge will peg all the way up. You can check this by removing the sender wire and turn on the key , take a short jumper wire and go from ground to the S terminal on the gauge, if the gauge goes the other way then it's ok. If you can find the 2 wire cable at the back of the engine coming through the transom mount you will see a connector, unplug it and using an ohm meter measure the resistance of the sender, should be approx 10 ohms in the down position and approx 167 ohms in the up position."
