I have a 1992 Four Winns 180 F

I have a 1992 Four Winns 180 Freedom that has a 1992 3.0 L GM engine with a Cobra sterndrive. The block has a crack so I bought a 07' 3.0 L GM block. I was told that it should drop in and hook up with no problems. When I took the manifold off the old block I noticed that the head and manifold had 5 openings. 3 of the openings shared 2 ports. THe new block has 8 seperate openings or ports. When I lay the new gasket against the manifold the bolt holes do line up but the ports don't line up exactly. The center 2 ports (exhaust) have opening area reduced by 1/2 and the rest by 1/4. Will this significantly reduce engine performance or damage the engine. I've hrard that GM used some 2.5 heads on 3.0 blocks to get rid of inventory. The part number on the old head is 2777770. Someone also mentioned that there was a exhaust manifold conversion adaptor to solve this problem but I haven't been able to find anything like that. Any comments or direction would greatly be appreciated.

Thanks so much in advance
