"my 1992 8HP dies at low RPM, but runs great at high RPMs. It will usually start on first pull, then immdeiately die. I can get it to work by "pumping" the choke in and out after starting, then throwing it into gear and accelerating quickly. Once up to speed, it is fine. As soon as I decelerate towards idle again, it will stall.
I don't think it is fuel, since I replaced all the fuel and the problem continued for many more hours. Is the problem a dirty carb? Should I remove it and clean it to get rid of this problem? Is there any trick to thoroughly cleaning the jets?"
