"I have a difficult time locating the Volvo synthetic gear lube for my 1998 Volvo DP-S drive, is there any reason for me not to use this more readily available product in its place?

I use the Mobil 1 Synthetic 75

I use the Mobil 1 Synthetic 75W-90 lube in mine with no incident. I recall reading in one of my owners manuals and seeing the Mobil 1 listed as one of the manufacturer's reccomended lubes as a replacement fluid for that outdrive.

I paid around $9/quart @ Autozone this season.
