Sputter after turned off

My searay 180br with a 3.0 mer

My searay 180br with a 3.0 mercruiser alpha one will sputter for 5 to 10 seconds after I turn off the engine. It shakes the whole boat and can't be good for the motor. Any suggestions how to stop it? New Spark plugs? Gas additive?

Could be your idle is set up too high.
You could try letting it cool down by idling for a minute or two after getting to the dock.
That's about it.
