"Posting for a friend. Had his boat out and was running fine. Went to drop off somone to go to the bathroom when he got to the dock the motor coughed, sputtered and started acting weird. He made a run across the lake and seemed to clean it out until a little later we he went to shut it off it dieseled (wouldnt shut off right away) and now will not start again. He has 2 batteries and seems to have plentuy of juice. It will turnover a once then it acts like it has a flat spot in the starter or someting and just clicks and nothing moves. Really dont want to replace the starter if its not whats wrong. (can't hardly see it let along get any tools near it) Any help would be greatly appreciated. Oh yea its a 1994 larson if that makes any difference"

"If it dieseled, its quite possible that it has ingested water. Remove the spark plugs and check for water in the cyls. If he keeps trying to start it he risks starter, and ring gear damage if this is the case.
