" I have a 90HP mariner. It ran fine the until the last time I went out. We launched the boat and it failed to start. We cranked it for 15 minutes trying to start it. It sounded like it was going to start a couple of times and we even got a puff or two of smoke out the exhaust. I ordered a manual to do some trouble shooting. I guess after reading some messages, I should start with making sure we have god spark at each of the in line six plugs. Any other thoughts? "

If you have to crank that long there is a problem. Does the choke /enricher(if so equipped) work.Is there spark on each cylinder.Compression check.You risk burning up an expensive starter.Pushing the key in when cranking?????
