"I have a mercruiser 255hp Chevy 350 1978 1200 hours. after the engine warms up the oil pressure gets very low at idle, between 5-10 psi. at higher rpm its between 25-35. what do you guys think."

"All you need is 10 psi per 1000 rpms, but I'd add some Lucas oil additive and go with 10W40 oil.

"As long as you have pressure

"As long as you have pressure it fine, it's WHERE the engine put's the oil that's criticle. Do as Jeff said and run a higher weight."
