Extra Drain Hole on 92 Starcraft Euro Elite 171

"Call me stupid and I will pro

"Call me stupid and I will proudly admit it! But, I have a stupid question.

Under the stern drive on my Mercruiser A1 3.0, there are 2 drain holes under the stern drive. One is the bilge drain. The other appears to be a similar design to a bilge outlet line--white plastic with a notch in it (just like the one on the side of the boat where bilge water would exit if using the pump). What is this hole for? It appears to be an exit hole of some kind but for what--I don't know.

Should I plug it?

Thanks!"

"It's below the water line

"It's below the water line. About a foot to the right of the hull drain plug. I don't have a live well on the boat--that I am aware of anyways--since it's a pleasure/ski boat. However, in the bow, under one of the seats is what could be used as a live well. I believe it's actually use is an ice chest that has a drain plug in the bottom of it.

Thanks for your input."

"Well, I feel totally silly.

"Well, I feel totally silly. In the bow of the boat, under the seat there is a built in ice chest. Pull the drain plug on it, and viola, water exits the extra drain hole below the water line in the back of the boat.....

Dee, Dee, Dee.....

Thanks guys."
