My 1989 Scarab excel runs hot
My 1989 Scarab excel runs hot at high speeds. The guage only shows 150 degrees...but the engine starts loosing power and it seems to be alot hotter than 150. i recently replaced the raw water pump. If i let the boat set and idle it cools down rather quickly. It just started this last weekend and now when you take off and get the boat planed off...it just shuts down. Is there and oil pressure safety switch on this boat? And please advise me on the correct oil viscosity for this particular motor. I have been using 10w30 mobil 1 full syn.
