"I own a yamaha outboard engine bearing the above mentioned model no. (VWHBO-2319) It has for its engine cover 40 HP mark but am not sure of its real year model and horsepower because its model no. does not match any yamaha model identification I've search in the internet. Anyway, it is a 3 cylinder engine with 3 carbs and an air enrichment mechanism attached on the middle carb ( with close/open indicator looks like an auto choke mechanism too.)I am having a problem with the carbs now. The engine does not achieve a high rpm on forward and reverse gear.On neutral gear, it revs up well but an excess gas can be noticed coming out of the carb opening if you remove the air cleaner. It starts coming out the moment the throttle increases . I tried detaching the air enrichment mechanism, thinking that the auto choke was defective, and placed temporary plugs on the connectors, but this did not correct the excess gas flowing out.hope somebody could help me with this problem. thanks"
