I have a 1999 searay 180 br th

I have a 1999 searay 180 br that ran like a top this weekend. My one concern is the running temp...it read just about 160 on plane. Is that to hot or just about right? Any help is appreciated. This is a great service.

"You stated that it runs 160 on plane, which sounds normal, but what temp are you holding at low rpm? I would say as long as you are never going above 170 you should be fine, although I have heard of people running hotter thermostats, 140-170 is about normal from my limited experience. "Jack is right; 160 is just fine. If your T'stat is doing its job, she should warm right up within just a few minutes from a cold start, and the temp should stay fairly steady regardless of the load on the engine.
