"Alternator belt on 5.0L Mercr

"Alternator belt on 5.0L Mercruiser Alpha One keeps breaking. Pulleys appear to be in alignment and not rusted, no squealing and tensioning according to manual. On fourth one in two seasons, any suggestions?"

"over tightening belt breaks inner webbing, wrong belt? change belt brands, verify tensioning specs. per service manual, water circ. pump bearing seal going out putting drag on belt and dripping small amts. water thru weep hole onto belt, alternator bearings need lubed"
