"for all that care, i had previously posted about a low compression issue and bad bellow boots for the u-joints on my recently acquired baretta.

I replaced the bellows and while apart thouroughly inspected everything, there was no evidence of water anywhere inside the boot, ant there was minimal rust on the driveshaft. i dont think the boat was introduced to water while apart.

As for the engine, i took the plugs out and cranked it over, it was spitting a fair amount of oil out of #4 cyl, (which was the one with low compression). i took the valve cover off and noticed right away that a head bolt had loosened up which was allowing cylinder pressure into places it shouldnt have been, it was also letting oil into the cylinder. i pulled the head off and sure enough the gasket was breeched between the cylinder and the bold hole.

i am going to send the head to the machine shop to see if it got twisted from having inadequate clamping but other than that a relatively inexpensive fix.

now on to electrical issues...."
