"The steering bracket is rusting through on my 98 Yam C150. To replace it, do I need to remove the powerhead from the mid-section and work my way down to the steering bracket, or, can I unbolt the four motor mount bolts and lift the entire outboard up while guiding the shift shaft up through the steering bracket tube? My Clymer manual does not address this job and I would greatly appreciate some experienced advice. Thank you}"
